Story
On the1st October I will be submitting myself to the rather unusual challenge of breaking a Guiness World Record.
With that in mind I will be attempting to break the world record for the most consecutive marathons on an indoor rower; which at the time of writing this stands at 30 marathons in 30 days.
It was set by an Aussie in 2022 so hopefully unlike the Ashes I will actually bring this home.
I will be doing this to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease in memory of my Wife’s uncle and dedicated to my wonderful, beautiful mum.
My wife's uncle and brother to Laura's Mum Jane, was diagnosed with MND in 2018.
"Don't worry about me" was Grahams motto even as he suffered greatly as he was slowly losing his ability to perform every day tasks and relied on others for help.
And yet throughout he never once complained about having this predicament thrust upon him.
In May of this year my Mum, Lynne was also diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
She is easily one of the strongest, most positive people I have ever known. I am so proud of her every day for the amazing outlook she has, seeing every day for the precious wonderful thing it is.
I am always humbled by how much courage those who have been diagnosed with MND have, the bravery to push on so they might cherish every moment with their loved ones.
Also, the unbounding love of families and specialists as as they fight alongside, trying to make people as comfortable as possible in the face of this devastating illness.
The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease.
