The Samaritans are, for some people, the first call they make when they feel that they are struggling. And, for others, it is the last resort when they are in their darkest place.

Whenever that call is made, it is vitally important that someone is on the other end of the line to talk with, to listen.

One of the 22’000 volunteers responds to a call to the Samaritans every ten seconds, an absolutely staggering number.

And that level of support requires constant funding.

I have never climbed this route on Ben Nevis.

The first time I do, will be on the day that I take on this challenge.

At a height of 4’413ft, this will make for a combined ascent elevation of 13’239ft, and a distance travelled of 25.5 miles……….in under 24 hours.
