Story
Hi guys,
Welcome to my Just Giving page! I have decided to take part in Ironman Wales 2024, not only for a personal challenge before I hit the big 5-0, but to raise money for a charity close to my heart.
The South West Wales Cancer fund is a charity that raises money for the Cancer Centre based at Singleton hospital. All cancer patients from South West Wales receive care at the Cancer Centre and all donations go towards making their cancer journey the best it can be.
I lost my auntie to cancer a few years ago. The care and compassion shown to us all at this difficult time was second to none, and for that I will always be grateful. Raising money for this incredible charity is a way for me to say thank you.
The NHS staff go above and beyond everyday to ensure cancer patients and their families attending the Cancer Centre are provided with the best care. I'd like to thank the staff for everything that they do for all patients currently fighting cancer, beaten it or for those who sadly didn't make it but were given all the help, support and treatment to fight. We are very fortunate to have this great service and I hope you will all help in supporting this amazing cause.
So I'll do the hard bit: swim 2.4 miles in the sea, cycle 112 very hilly miles and run 26.2 miles all in less than 17 hours (hopefully!!) Truth be known, I'm petrified of open water swimming and I can't run very far, so I'm hoping the cycle will allow me to make up some time🤣
Thanks for visiting my page and those who have donated 😊
