Story

The UK sepsis trust will forever be a charity close to my heart.

After the sudden death of my wonderful brother Ashley to Sepsis in August 2022, I know first hand how this condition can be so cruely agressive and unforgiving.

Ashley was a wonderful brother, son, fiance, Daddy and friend to everyone he met.

His passing has left a huge hole in all of our life's.

The UK sepsis trust raises awareness, and sparks the question: “What is sepsis? In this way, fundraising can help prevent thousands of deaths & unnecessary suffering through knowledge & awareness of the symptoms in the hope that we can try to prevent other families going through the heart break our family has felt.

It also funds the vital support work, Public Awareness, Educating Health Professionals & helping people adjust to life after sepsis through accessing our Support Group network. They also lobby government to support the cause and makes vital changes in areas such as the NHS.

Myself, my husband and my sister in law and brother in law have decided to take on the challenge of hiking 50km/31 miles of the south west coast for the 'south west coast 50 ultra challenge!'

Please show your support and encouragement for us by sponsoring us, which in turn supports this vital charity.

Thank you

Kelly. X

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
