Story

This year, I am running to raise funds for RNIB - Royal National Institute of Blind People which is a charity very close to my heart.

When our eldest daughter Florence was just 16 weeks old she was diagnosed with an incurable eye condition called Nystagmus something we had never heard of or knew anything about. As new parents our world felt like it was going to fall apart as we thought the worst. Thankfully with the support of our wonderful friends and family and after numerous appointments with the visual impairement team we had confirmation that Florence's case was very mild and her vision for her age was actually where it should be and with the right support at school and continued check ups she should be able to lead a normal life and have the opportunity to drive when she is old enough which is something we were told at the beginning was very unlikely.

We are beyond proud of our precious girl how she copes with her condition on a daily basis and doesn't let it hold her back.

So as I lace up my running shoes and prepare for the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2024, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. We are so thankful that Florence's case is mild but understand that others aren't as fortunate which is why the research must continue.

By donating today, you can help me reach my target of £350 and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it. Your donation will go directly towards supporting RNIB's vital services, ensuring that no one has to face sight loss alone.
