Story

Oscar is an amazing inspirational little boy who always has a smile on his face and as his parents we could not be any prouder of him.

Oscar was diagnosed with a very rare genetic diagnosis - Creatine Transporter Deficiency (CTD).

He was born with a difference in one of his genes, which is responsible for moving creatine around the body. Creatine is essential to sustain the high levels of energy needed for muscle and brain development. Oscar takes supplements daily to help boost his creatine levels but currently there is no cure for CTD. We are working with the organisation ACD to raise funds into research to help find more information and a cure for creatine deficiencies in the hope that one day this will help Oscar and many other children and adults with this rare condition. Thank you for your support and for making a contribution towards ACD.

We will be arranging a fun morning fundraising event on the 15th of June followed by a walk for strength on the 16th June to raise awareness of the brilliant work ACD are doing.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page and for all your support.

About the charity

The ACD provides patient, family, and public education, to advocate for early intervention through newborn screening, and to promote and fund medical research for treatments and cures for Cerebral Creatine Deficiency Syndromes (CCDS). Families and researchers we support are from around the world.
