Story
Are we crazy!? We will be taking part in a Sky Dive from 15,000ft on the 8th October 2023 in just over 6 weeks!! For anyone who knows Kelly & Anna will know this is not something they are doing for fun, Hez on the other hand can't wait to jump out of that plane!
The charity is nearing the target and we want to raise some much needed funds for a cause that is extremely close to our hearts...
The appeal is to build a garden balcony on the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) so that our poorly patients can benefit from the outdoors in a safe and infection-controlled environment. All patients, their visitors and staff are set to benefit from this innovative improvement that will make it easier and safer to move patients outside with no loss of space to the existing unit.
Kelly's Story -
Fresh air is something we take for granted!
Patients in intensive care do not get this, this is why this outdoor balcony is crucially needed!
This charity is something extremely close to my heart, after tragically loosing my Dad on the 23rd December 2022 at the age of 57. My Dad had spent a long period of time in the intensive care unit within the Countess of Chester hospital the longest time spent in there was 10 weeks without the option to go outside . Even though my dad was poorly he was awake and fully aware of his surroundings something as simple as sitting in the fresh air is something he would of loved!
This is for you Dad ❤
Anna's Story -
In 2019 I came back from my holiday in Rome and felt unwell, within 2 days of being back I went into A&E at the Countess of Chester, after being admitted things went downhill very quickly I was taken into ICU and was put to sleep on a ventilator to breathe for me due to my lungs not being able to work properly. After a couple of days with the doctors and nurses trying there best to fix me I wasn't responding to the treatment. The ICU team had been speaking with Wythenshawe hospital where I was then blue lighted across to them and then put on a treatment called ECMO which is only available in 4 places in the UK. This treatment saved my life! I finally came round 5 weeks later where I then had to learn to walk, talk and do life's basics again. I will be forever grateful for the care I received that means I am here today!
Hez – Unlike the girls I am looking forward to this experience along with being able to support such a deserving charity I realise the importance due to a family member of mine also being in and out of an ICU unit. I am delighted to be able to support in raising as much money as possible for this charity!
Every little helps to get the last push to raise the final amount needed for the balcony to be started!
PLEASE HELP US TO RAISE AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE, IM SURE THE VIDEO OF US JUMPING FROM THE PLANE WILL ALSO BE WORTH YOUR DONATION!
