Story
I could be lazy and say I’m fundraising because NASSL is our nominated charity at work this year. And because it is a small local charity based in North East England. But that is not entirely true!
We are a nation of pet lovers. They teach us how to love. They give us so much joy and happiness. And they lift our moods on our darkest days. That is why it’s important to give back and look after them. NASSL help animals in need in many ways. They take them in and care for them when they have nowhere to go. They help provide pet food and support to help owners who are struggling with the cost of living, but love their pets and can’t face giving them up. And they temporarily house them when their owners hit hard times (hospitalisation, homelessness, have to seek refuge, etc). A huge part of what they do is helping to keep pets with their families, and as a dog owner myself, I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to mine for any reason. I have grown up around animals (mainly dogs), and I couldn’t imagine living life without one by my side. Let’s make sure other people don’t have to. And let’s help care for those animals without homes…until they find their forever families. My Nan has always taught me that animals need us, and that they depend on us for everything…but I’m sure many animal lovers will agree when I say we need them just as much! And in many cases with NASSL, if you help the animal, you help the person!
So I am doing the Color Obstacle Rush on 10th June 2023 with several of my colleagues. We hope to raise as much money as possible to help these animals in need…and where possible their humans too! Please donate what you can, it is very much appreciated.
