Trek Sahara 2025 · 20 March 2025 ·

A group of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice supporters are taking on the journey of a lifetime by trekking across the Sahara Desert in March 2025 to raise money for the charity.

Story

In March 2025, Lily and I will be taking part in Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice’s Trek Sahara, in loving memory of my mum Jenny. We will be completing 4 complete days of trekking through the Sahara Desert in the intense heat and also camp out in the desert each night. This will definitely be both a physical and mental challenge, pushing us both outside our comfort zones!

My Mum was cared for by the amazing and remarkable staff at Greenwich and Bexley Hospice, their genuine compassion and kindness not only for Mum but for all of the family was amazing and words cannot thank them enough. Every year they care for nearly 3,000 people with a life-limiting illness and their carers, family and friends- all care is provided free of charge. They receive around a third of their funding from the NHS, which means they depend on the generosity of our community to fund much of the care they provide for local people.

Any donation towards this worthy cause is hugely appreciated! This will enable other families living with terminal illnesses to have the same loving care that my Mum and Lily’s Nan had.

Thank you,

Kellie and Lily x
