Story
Why Kelis needs your help;
Kelis has been offered a place at the World-renowned Paediatric Therapy Centre, NAPA for February 19th 2024. Getting a place at this centre is like gold dust, so I'm super excited that Kelis has been offered a place after being on the cancellation wait list. For many years I've been wanting to take Kelis to the NAPA Centre but with it's closest centre being in America, this was only a dream! They now have a centre in London, UK and Kelis has been offered a 3 week intensive, where she will be doing 3 hours of therapy a day! The cost of the program is £5865 and unfortunately it is not available on the NHS. With your support, Kelis has already raised an incredible £3,000 towards this goal, but we need your help to raise the final £2,865 before January 19th. Every pound counts in helping Kelis reach her goal.
So please share with family, friends and colleagues to help Kelis reach her goal. Let's make miracles happen!!
Here's what NAPA have to say;
"Our intensive therapy programs, which may include combinations of occupational, physiotherapy, & speech therapy, are customised for each child based on their needs & goals. High repetitions of exercises consolidated over a short period time capitalises on the principles of neuroplasticity and motor learning, and can result in gains towards goals typically seen in children after longer periods of traditional therapies"
Here's why it is important for Kelis to attend her intensive at the NAPA Centre UK;
In March 2023 Kelis underwent her 3rd major surgery since she was 5 years old! The orthopaedic surgery reconstructed her foot positioning using bone from her hip! When the casts were removed after 2 months, Kelis was left extremely weak and her feet were extremely sensitive. 10 months on and she is still recovering and rehabilitation is paramount.
In November 2023 Kelis suffered a fall that was so severe her adult front tooth was knocked clean out. It was immediately put back in at A&E and splinted but she is now waiting to have root canal treatment on both her front adult teeth and will need follow up treatment for the next 5 years. Since the fall Kelis has also suffered 2 Tonic Clonic seizures. The impact of this has left her extremely fatigued and she is suffering from social anxiety due to worrying over it happening again. This is causing sleepless nights and she is struggling to emotionally regulate herself.
2023 events have unfortunately had a negative impact on Kelis's physical abilities and her independence, as well as affecting her confidence. She can no longer do the things she once loved to do and did so freely! Please help Kelis raise the remaining funds by 19th January to secure her place in February, giving her the opportunity to get her strength, stamina and most importantly her confidence back!
