Harleys story
This is my late great grandson Harley, who was born on 25th June 2021. At age just 5 months, Harley was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. He was rushed to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where he spent the next 8 months undergoing various treatments under the dedicated care of the doctors and nurses there. Harley fought so very hard every day to beat this illness, never once did that beautiful smile leave his little face. He actually got to be declared in remission and got to ring the "in remission bell" and was allowed home just before his 1st birthday Tragically, after just a few weeks he relapsed, and on returning to hospital we were told nothing more could be done to save our beautiful boy. Harley lost his brave fight on 27th July 2022 age just 13 months, which left our family devastated and heartbroken as we always will be 💔.
In memory of Harley, I will be aiming to raise funds for Birmingham Children's Hospital. Next March 2025, I will be taking part in "The Sahara Desert Trek Challenge"
Walking 100k over 5 days through the Desert. It is self funded, so I will be paying for everything myself, flights, hotel, the Trek, etc. So that 100% of any money raised through sponsorship, will all go to Birmingham Children's Hospital, to thank them for all they did to try and save our little boy. I will be approaching my 75th birthday that year, so it will be a challenge for me. But I know our beautiful angel Harley will be with me every step of the way. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Keith.
