Story
For Keith this is a really big challenge. 10km is double my previous longest swim last year when I swam the Solent for another charity. Egged on by my daughter and swim buddy Jo I’m upping my training for a 10Km swim marathon. I think I can do this but am not at all certain. At 63 I will need to work hard for it and hope that conditions on the day are kind to me.
Level Water is a great charity giving the gift of swimming to disabled kids who would otherwise never know the experience of swimming.
The first splash. The holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. The lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day.
Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.
At Level Water, we use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. The water supports the weight of the body and eases pain making it a great exercise for kids with physical or mental disabilities.
Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
