The first, and arguably the finest, 10k swim on the open water calendar. Never has an event captured the pure essence and ethos of a community as the Dart10k has done for swimmers.

Story

For me this is another big big challenge. 10km is double my previous longest swim when I swam the Solent for another charity last year. Egged on by my daughter and swim buddy Jo I’m upping my training for a 10K swim marathon. I think i can do this but not at all certain. At 63 I will need to really work for it!

Level Water is a great charity giving the gift of swimming to disabled kids who would otherwise never get the chance.

The first splash. The holding your breath. The echoes of laughter. The wet hair. The lifted spirits. The joy of gliding through water. The smile that lasts all day.

Swimming is like nothing else. The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are all universal. Yet access to swimming in the UK is not.

At Level Water, we use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities. The water supports the weight of the body and eases pain making it a great exercise for kids with physical or mental disabilities.

Everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim and fall in love with the water.
