Thank you for considering supporting our cause! Let me introduce you to who we are and what we do. We are the Dearne Valley Walking Group, a not-for-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers who freely give their time to organize and lead walks in The Dearne Valley area of Yorkshire and beyond.

Dearne Valley Walking Group was formed in the Barnsley area of South Yorkshire in April 2009 and has since grown into a thriving independent walking group open to everyone. With around 100 active participants from Doncaster, Rotherham, Sheffield, and surrounding areas, we come together to explore beautiful South Yorkshire and the Peak District throughout the year.

This year marks a special milestone for us as Dearne Valley Walking Group celebrates its fifteenth year. To commemorate this occasion, we will be hosting a week-long festival of walks in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity. The festival will kick off on Sunday 7th April 2024 with an opening ceremony led by the Mayor of Barnsley, Councillor James Michael Stowe.

Our goal during this festival is not only to celebrate our achievements but also to raise as much money as possible for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. This incredible charity relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations like ours to help save lives across Yorkshire. Every day, they need £19,000 to keep both of Yorkshire's air ambulances operational.
