Story
In 2011 I lost my sister Carole to a Grade 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour. She died aged 52, just 5 weeks after diagnosis.
Her son Dan, my nephew ran the London Marathon in 2022 raising £3500 for Brain Tumour Research (BTR).
Inspired by my nephew Dan, I ran the London Marathon in 2023, raising £1613 for BTR.
After winning a ballot place for a second time, I shall again run the London Marathon for BTR on the 21st April 2024.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
For aggressive brain tumours like Carole’s, the future is bleak, and most people diagnosed only live a few months.
This awful disease robs families of loved ones and steals futures. Treatment has changed little in 30 years.
Last year my family, friends and neighbours were very generous in helping me smash my target.
I know times are tight, but anything you are able to give will raise funds to help find a cure.
Thank you
Kaye
