Story
The Brighton Marathon will be my 5th attempt at the distance, and is the marathon that was never meant to happen!
After several years of hard work training and fundraising, last year I declared I was having an extended break from marathon and sticking to smaller distances. Until I met Albie!
I went along with Des to visit Footprints Conductive Education Centre in Nottingham, and while there we watched Albie, a young boy, taking part in a therapy session. His big proud smile while he worked on standing up was infectious, so when the charity mentioned they had places available for Brighton, I couldn't resist.
Afterall, if these kids and their families can put so much effort and determination into things that come so easily to other people, what's another 26.2 miles for me?!
My marathon effort is also to support Des, who's taken on the massive challenge of going Coast2Coast in September, you can read more about this on his page.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, every bit of support is really, really appreciated!
