Story
My journey with NAC first began in 2019, when I volunteered for a coding event with children at my place of work (IAS). There, I met NAC’s Director and was deeply impressed by NAC’s commitment to serving children facing a plethora of hardships. I immediately wanted to get involved, and soon after became the mentor of a remarkable young individual named Mel. Over the past nearly five years, I’ve witnessed Mel’s incredible growth as she navigated and conquered formidable challenges. Not only has she developed mentally and physically, but she’s also transformed emotionally- building confidence, nurturing aspirations, and forming a stronger sense of self-worth.
For over four decades, NAC has helped many children with severe disabilities and chronic medical conditions who are in foster care or at risk of foster care placement, have endured trauma, abuse, neglect, and/or have spent years living in hospitals. Currently, there are children like Mel waiting for the crucial services that NAC provides.
