Story
I'm raising money for Cancer Research at Cardiff University.
I am taking on a few challenges this year to help in the fight against cancer. Sadly, we all know someone who has /had cancer and the number of people is growing fast. My personal experience of cancer has been with close family and best friends and more so in the past few years. It affects us all.
This year I will be:
* Running the Paris Marathon on 7th April
* Running Cardiff Half Marathon on 6th October
* Donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust - The Little Princess Trust provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Please support me if you can by donating any amount.
Every two minutes someone is diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Cancer research at Cardiff University is helping to improve outcomes for patients and develop new therapies for the future.
- 1,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed every day
- 1 in 2 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime
- 4 in 10 cancer cases in the UK could be prevented
- And, by 2030, it’s estimated that 230,000 people across Wales will have the disease. This is why research is vital.
By donating any amount you will be supporting the next generation of researchers who will accelerate the development of new, more effective treatment, you can improve the survival rates and quality of life for people with cancer, now and in the future.
Thank you so much for reading this. Lots of love, Katy xxx
