Story
Katie was a special young woman who loved being outdoors. She loved her days at FarmAbility.
Her sessions there included a rich variety of outdoor, purposeful activities in animal husbandry, horticulture and seasonal tasks that gave her meaningful occupation, opportunities to improve her physical health and well-being, and the chance to be an important part of a productive and welcoming community.
What makes FarmAbility special?
Everyone there really cares about what they do and they love what they do! From programme leaders to volunteers to office staff to trustees – are all strongly committed to developing a more inclusive society and to enabling co-farmers to succeed.
Katie and the other co-farmers never stopped learning: The team at FarmAbility are continually reviewing their progress, exploring new enabling strategies and challenging their practice – they want to do the best they can.
‘Community’ is an important word and concept at FarmAbility. Developing and nurturing a thriving community on their farms and elsewhere is at the heart of what they do – and ensuring that the community is inclusive and welcoming is vital.
Co-farming at FarmAbility is a fantastic way to find out all the things you can do.
