The 'Emmy Coates Thyroid Cancer Research Fund' raises money for the Head and Neck Unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

Story

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.

From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

As a rare cancer, thyroid cancer research has historically struggled to find funding. "The Emmy Coates Thyroid Research Fund" therefore has been absolutely key to setting us off on this development pathway. The Emmy Coates Thyroid Research Fund has enabled us to use scientific techniques that have previously only been used in common cancers such as breast, prostate and lung cancer but have not yet been fully investigated in thyroid cancer. This means we are at the forefront of this field.
