Story
Myself and my friend Nick are doing Cardiff Half Marathon again this year and over a beer at the end of last year’s race, we decided to do it for a lesser known, smaller charity. We discovered ‘British Wireless for the Blind Fund’ and their Save our Sets Appeal. This is a national charity which provides adapted radios for blind and visually impaired people, and this obviously struck a huge chord with me with both my work in Diabetic Eye Screening Wales and my love of music
British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF) has been supporting people living with sight loss for 95 years. During this time, they have brought comfort, connection and companionship to thousands of people through the joy of radio. Without these adapted radio devices, many people may otherwise feel a sense of detachment and isolation from the world around them.
