Story
Join me in finding a cure for leukemia and blood cancers! I am riding The Route 2025 (https://theroute.co.uk) to raise money for Cure Leukaemia. My father-in-law, Brian Miller (1948-2021), was a kind and curious person. He developed Leukemia after long-term treatment for Multiple Myeloma. Brian was always up for an adventure and was an advocate for women. He loved to push himself and was an avid hiker and mountaineer. I know he is cheering me on and will be pushing me every kilometer of this journey.
I am also riding in support of my Uncle Mike who is living with leukemia. He is always the life of the party and his musical talents bring joy to all.
I ride for my patients who have blood cancer or who have had loved ones with blood cancer. I support you all on your journeys. I am riding because we are never guaranteed another trip around the sun and must enjoy things now.
I also ride for my daughters - as an example of being strong and having fun. I want them and girls everywhere to know that sports and adventures don’t have to stop just because you grown up.
Cure Leukaemia helps blood cancer patients to access pioneering drug and transplant treatments by funding a network of specialist research nurses across the UK. Without these nurses, to ensure patients are monitored and cared for, clinical trials of these new treatments would not run and patients, that have exhausted standard treatment options, would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies. Every penny raised for Cure Leukaemia helps save lives and also hastens global progress towards the eradication of all forms of blood cancer.
