Flutter International Hospice Half Marathon

Flutter International Hospice Half Marathon · 23 March 2025 ·
I’m running the Isle of Man Hospice Half Marathon in a couple of weeks and I’d like to raise at least £100 for Hospice. In particular, I am running in memory of the late Patrick Knight, who passed away very recently. Pat was a musician friend of mine whom I’ve known for over 30 years. Always encouraging, always kind, but with that acerbic wit which we all came to know him by. The traditional music scene on the island will be a poorer place without him and we’re all incredibly sad about it. I’d like to show support for Hospice, in the same way that they supported Pat in his final days. 🎶

Through fundraising for the Flutter International Hospice Half Marathon we are aiming to raise £30,000, which will go directly towards funding up to 140 essential palliative care nursing visits for patients receiving end-of-life care in the comfort of their own homes. These visits are critical in ensuring patients and their families receive the compassionate care they deserve during difficult times.
In 2025, it will cost the Hospice £7.1 million to deliver these services and 76% of this is expected to come from the community, so every penny you raise really does count. Together, we can make a real difference to both patients and their loved ones. You can help ensure care is always available to our Island community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a week and at no cost.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
