The Mencap Marvels squad are swimming in relay across the English Channel in September 2024. We are swimming to support Mencap, a UK organization that supports children and adults with learning disabilities, including autism. As a teacher, I work with students that have learning disabilities every day. I am proud to be able to represent an organization that supports these children and adults.

We will be swimming 1 hr each at a time, in skins (no wetsuit), standard swimsuit, goggles & swim cap. We will swim through the night and whatever weather conditions are thrown at us. Swimming for Mencap is a special privilege as swimming is an activity that can be shared and enjoyed by all our community. The Mencap Marvels have 2 senior squads and 1 junior team this year:

The Turnchapel Mermaids team is Philippa Hall, Lucy Allison, Hannah Blore, Nina Jenkins, Louisa uggan-Smith and Laura Gallop.
