Story
Tom was a family member of mine and a much loved member of our family. In such a tragic event, we lost Tom in 2018. I want to do this fundraiser to not only raise money for a good cause, but to pay tribute to Tom and keep his name alive.
I will be cycling from my home to the following in one day -
- The Hawthorns (West Bromwich Albion FC)
- The Molineux (Wolverhampton Wanderers FC)
- The Bescot (Walsall FC)
- Villa Park (Aston Villa FC)
- St Andrews (Birmingham City FC)
- Victoria Ground (Bromsgrove Sporting FC)
- Tom's Memorial Bench - Grand Stand Road, Worcester
Any donations will be appreciated so much!
This Fund has been set up to celebrate the memory of a young student Tom Jonah Jones from Bromsgrove who died in a tragic accident in the River Severn in September 2018. Tom was just 18 and in the first week of starting a teaching degree course at the University of Worcester. Tom was an immensely popular young man, with a huge love of sport and life; he had everything before him and his wide circle of family and friends were devastated by his sudden and unexplained loss.
Partnering with Worcester Community Foundation, this Fund is about celebrating Tom's life and at the same time raising funds for the causes that he was passionate about. For this reason, all funds raised will go towards supporting sports-related groups and projects across Worcestershire; we aim to raise funds to provide opportunities for children and young adults through working closely with schools, colleges, universities and local sports groups.
