About The Brain Charity

As a teenager Marsailidh had surgery to treat a Chiari malformation, an unusual condition that causes a build up of pressure at the base of the skull. Becoming well enough to play music again was a huge part of her recovery, and sparked a lifelong interest in the many links between creativity and wellbeing.

After reading this story about a young girl who was helped in her recovery from a Chiari malformation through The Brain Changer Arts Project, Kathy and Marsailidh decided to perform together in support of the invaluable work that The Brain Charity does.

"The Brain Charity helps people affected by all forms of neurological conditions to lead longer, healthier, happier lives.

There are more than 600 conditions affecting the brain, spine and nervous system. We are the only charity in the UK to support every single one.

Each year, we provide practical help, emotional support, and social activities to thousands of people from all over the UK and their family, friends, and carers.

We champion neurodiversity and fight for an inclusive and just society, free of stigma, hardship and isolation."
