Story
When our youngest daughter Daisy was just 12 weeks old we were sent to pinderfields hospital to have her checked due to breathing problems, constant sleeping, blue hands and feet and difficulty feeding. After having a scan on her heart we were given the news that our baby girl had been born with congenital heart defects that had not been detected in any of our scans and without surgery she wouldn't survive.
In February this year Daisy had open heart surgery to fix her broken heart and had a 9 day stay in LGI. Whilst Daisy was in LGI's intensive care unit James and I were given a place to stay and recieved food vouchers to help us with costs while Daisy recovered from her surgery. Daisy also received a Katie bear and a certificate whilst our other two children were given an activity book that explained everything that was happening to Daisy which was especially helpful when her siblings were worried about her.
On 2nd September 2023 we are daring the drop for Children's Heart Surgery Fund and will descend 164ft down Wakefield Cathedral to raise vital, life-saving funds for the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit, it's incredible patients and their families.
Any amount you can give in support of this challenge is greatly appreciated, however big or small.
Thank you
James and Kathryn
