On October 13th, I will be running my first ever half marathon in memory of two very special people to me, Elloise Maddock and my Grandad, and I will be sending all donations to Cancer Research.

Elloise was an amazing lady and bestfriend of my mum’s and so growing up it has been like I gained a bonus family, with Jake and myself growing up almost as siblings. I would joke to Elloise that she was my second mum, but she truly was and I am so grateful that I got to share the times I did with her before she lost her battle to cancer in April 2023. I know that she would be cheering me on from the side and so I hope that I can make her proud by doing this.

My grandad was someone who would light up any room he was in, and someone I was so proud to call my Grandad. Sadly we lost him in May and he has been missed every day since, so I hope that I can raise money in his honour. A few years ago, he fought and won against cancer through the help of the treatment and funding that cancer research receives. I want to raise money so other people can gain the treatment and support that he did.
