I am taking part in The Big Splash 2024, attempting to Swim 10km over the month of November - a huge distance for me!!

Together with all the other event participants I am raising funds for Swim Torquay, the charity that runs Plainmoor Pool.

This vital community facility has provided affordable and accessible water based activities for over 40 years running sessions as diverse as Water Mobility, Aquacize, Parents and Tots and Triathlon training alongisde traditional lane swimming and providing the training facility for 2 local swimming clubs. In addition 27 local schools use the pool to deliver curriculum swimming, ensuing our children are safe in the water.

Local community pools are facing significantly challenging times with many across the country having closed since Covid. Facilities like ours not only support phyiscal well being but also have a significant positive impact on users mental health.

We need the help and support of our local community to raise vital funds to refurbish our changing rooms.
