Story
We are 3 friends fundraising for The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Jo’s friend Gemma.
Just before Christmas 2020, Gemma was having some issues with her left hand; pins and needles, tingling and problems with typing, writing etc. After a trip to the doctors she was told this was carpel tunnel syndrome but after physiotherapy not working she went on to have tests and scans. Just one month later she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour, and this was the reason behind her symptoms.
After attempting surgery later that month, the tumour could not be removed as it would have left her completely paralysed down her left side.. Sadly, Gemma died in January 2023, leaving behind her husband and 2 beautiful young children.
Gemma really enjoyed running, so we are challenging ourselves and will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 7th 2024. We want to give back and help support this amazing charity who are committed to saving and improving lives. They're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change.
Running isn’t exactly something we love, so anything you can give would be greatly appreciated - THANK YOU!
