Story
Running and volunteering with rescue animals are two of my passions, so I thought I'd have a go at my first ever Marathon on 14 April to raise some much needed funds for a charity I have volunteered with for 5 years and one which is very close to my heart.
Rescue Remedies is a small Surrey based charity who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abandoned and neglected dogs and cats, providing them with care and love while they are waiting, however long that takes. Taking most of their dogs from death row in council pounds who have run out of time and are in desperate need of a rescue place. Many of the cats come via social services or from difficult situations. They are totally self funded and rely on donations and fundraising events put on by volunteers and friends. www.rescueremedies.co.uk
I've been running on and off for 12 years but have never been brave (or stupid) enough to take on a marathon. This is a huge personal challenge and one which I'm excited and a little bit terrified about. If I can raise a little bit of money for the dogs and cats I devote much of my time towards in the process, I will be really happy!
Thanks for your support!
