NOTE: Unfortunately due to two consecutive injuries, I had to make the decision in March to pull out of the London Marathon. I am absolutely gutted as this is something I truly wanted to complete. Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page where I am raising money for Child Rescue Nepal by running the London Marathon 2024.

In Nepal it is estimated that there are over 100,000 children working in hazardous situations. Child Rescue Nepal rescues children from slavery, keeps them safe and reunites them with their families. They have rescued and rehabilitated over 850 children but their work is far from over and your donation will help them save more children and work towards more families being brought together.

As a mother of two children I feel blessed every day to watch them grow and flourish, experiencing the normal joys (and sometimes lows) of growing up in a safe and loving environment. It is therefore heart-wrenching to imagine the situation of some of the families in Nepal. This charity is very close to my families heart and my parents have been active supporters for a number of years, with my father even travelling to Nepal to see the work of this wonderful charity in action. It means such a lot to me to be able to do something to raise funds for this amazing cause and I thank you so much in advance for all your generosity.

So why a marathon... Well I had a chance to run a marathon in 2021, however due to the pandemic I ended up having to run it on my own (well with the support of family and friends but not an official event). I really want the chance to complete this feat under race conditions and what a better place than London! Having trained for a marathon before I actually think I am more scared the second time around... I know the hours and commitment it is going to take and the times I am going to want to do anything but run but running for Child Rescue Nepal and knowing the impact my effort is going to have on children and their families will spur me on for sure.
