Story
Kathleen has supported Newcastle University Centre for Cancer for many years following the footsteps of her mother. She has visited the Centre several time to see their work and was impressed by what they do.
When Newcastle started its research into cancer 40 years ago, mortality from the disease was at a peak in the UK. Since then, cancer survival rates have doubled in part because of the efforts of people at Newcastle.
But cancer still accounts for a quarter of all deaths in the UK, and peoples lives are still being cut short because we have work to do. 1 in 2 people in the UK will receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
To ensure that the tides in the battle against cancer remain in our favour, we need you to join us on our mission.
By donating or fundraising for the Newcastle University Cancer Fund you can make a direct difference in the lab, where researchers fight every day for people all over the world who live with cancer.
