Story
Those that know me will know that I am a constant bundle of energy - so I have decided to put it to good use and run the 2025 London Marathon for WaterAid!
Although I have been running for years I have never entered a formal race before, and the London Marathon will be my first. Running 26.2 miles next April will be an incredible experience, and I am pleased to be running for a good cause. (I also could not resist the David Bowie running pun).
More than 770 million people around the world lack access to clean water, contributing to the global Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) crisis. Through Water Aid we aim to help advance dignity and equality by reducing the disproportionate burden that the WASH crisis places on women and girls as well as investing in climate adaptation solutions.
My target is to raise £2500 to contribute to advancing clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene in healthcare facilities in Mozambique.
Any donations, big or small, will be so appreciated. Watch this space for London based cake sales and privacy themed pub quizzes (am I joking?).
THANK YOU.
To make it personal for a second - 26.2 miles may sound like a huge distance, but over this past year I have realised that no run can cause anywhere near as much pain as some people live in every day. I will have some special people in my mind as I attempt the distance.
