Story
Katherine, Dale, Nick and Rich will be running the Royal Parks Half Marathon together in October to raise money for The Grace Dear Trust, a charity very close to our hearts.
About Grace:
Grace was the life and soul of the party. She was kind, thoughtful and had the most infectious laugh. Katherine and Grace grew up together as best friends since the age of four and as a result our families became close friends. As she grew older, Grace began to struggle with her mental health and fought so, so hard. In February 2017, we lost our beautiful Gracie when she felt like there was no other way out. This is something that is still incredibly painful but Grace’s wonderful family have focussed their grief and heartbreak into setting up a charity to help others who are struggling. The Grace Dear Trust has been a registered charity for nearly six years and in that time have spent a huge £360,000 supporting young people in the local area. Over 300 children have received 1:1 counselling as a direct result of the funds raised meaning they did not have to wait 18 months to be seen. We want to support them to continue their incredible work by helping to raise as much money as we can.
About the charity:
Our charity was set up after losing our beloved daughter and sister, Grace Dear, to suicide aged just 27 in
February 2017. Grace had been suffering with depression and anxiety from the age of 13, but hadn’t felt she could reach out to anyone to help her make sense of her feelings. Not knowing why she felt the way she did, she suffered in silence for many years.
Our trust works to educate young people, encouraging them to talk about their feelings and make mental health an everyday topic of conversation. "it's ok not to be ok"
Grace, this is for you 💜✨
