Story
Rosie and I are about to embark on a heartfelt journey along the stunning Norfolk coastline, covering 20 miles with a powerful purpose. One of us will be blindfolded, walking in complete darkness, as the other guides and supports — a raw, visceral experience that mirrors the daily struggles our brave Veterans endure. This act of solidarity is our way of honoring their courage, fostering deep empathy, and shining a bright light on the incredible work of this deserving charity. Together, we hope to inspire awareness and ignite a compassionate movement that truly makes a difference.
Blind Veterans - Rebuilding lives after sight loss, helping vision-impaired ex-Servicemen and women to rebuild their lives after sight loss.
They provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support to veterans regardless of how or when they lost their sight. They’re there to help blind veterans regain their independence and live the life they choose.
Veterans like Chris - Chris was a young man with a new baby when he was blinded while serving in Afghanistan.
He says he went from being a “confident soldier to not being able to make my own cup of tea”, until he joined Blind Veterans UK. Sometimes, it’s the small things that make all the difference.
