I turn 50 this year. It’s also 5 years since I lost my right eye to cancer. So when a friend asked if I would join her on a LEJOG ride I said yes! I won’t be breaking any records and I fully expect to walk up some steeper hills, but I am looking forward to reliving some amazing memories as I cycle through landscapes I have lived, holidayed, studied, worked and walked through. All these activities were with friends and family and I hope to see some of you en route.

I’m also taking the opportunity to raise money for two charities close to my heart. As an asthmatic in my childhood and a parent of children with asthma, I am raising money to support a charity that helps families learning how to manage this disease, understand triggers and live more fully with asthma.
