Story
I turn 50 this year. It’s also 5 years since I lost my right eye to cancer. So when a friend asked if I would join her on a LEJOG ride I said yes! I won’t be breaking any records and I fully expect to walk up some steeper hills, but I am looking forward to reliving some amazing memories as I cycle through landscapes I have lived, holidayed, studied, worked and walked through. All these activities were with friends and family and I hope to see some of you en route.
Maggies provided a place for me to cry, to process, to understand and come to terms with cancer. It was where I received counselling to help me with surgery and adjusting to a changed life. It also provided family counselling and was vital to help me regain literal balance through Qi Gong sessions. I’m raising funds to ensure these facilities remain available.
