OK, so you're intrigued enough to check out what I am up to....

On the 20th September 2025, I will be flying to China with a group of amazing colleagues to raise money for the place we are so lucky to work at. We will be trekking around 36km along parts of the Great Wall of China between the 20th and 28th September. The trek will involve thousands of steps up and down reaching heights of around 800m in temperatures of up to 26 degrees. We will be trekking up parts of the wall that are at 45 degree angles and scrambling on our hands and feet to get to other parts. Sounds easy enough right? OK, add in a fear of flying and heights and this starts to become a pretty massive challenge.... This will push me to emotional and physical limits and I am determined to conquer these fears and show my children never to let fear get in the way of achieving your dreams.

My dream? I aim to raise a MASSIVE £3400 for this fabulous place Alder Hey Children's Hospital. I have worked here for 11 of the last 16 years and even after a 5 year career break couldn't get the place out of my blood! Every day we see amazing children, young people, families and staff working together to make lives better. We are a huge family here at Alder Hey and we are inspired every day by the bravery and determination shown by the young people in our care. Young people who frequently live with financial and social difficulties making life so much harder than it should be. Not to mention the varying health conditions that they are trying so desperately to deal with. We try as best we can to make those journeys that little bit easier and the Alder Hey Charity aim to do just that with the extra funds they can raise.

So, dig deep people and lets see if we can reach that MASSIVE target.
