The Bantham Swoosh is a world class 6km swim in an estuary in Devon. Among the things that make it special is the fact the estuary you swim in is both shallow and sandy bottomed.

Story

We have taken a deep breath and signed up to this wonderful event this summer .

Swimming 6km down an estuary in Devon in July 2024

We have both been on a bit of a front crawl journey, progressing from hardly managing a few strokes without drowning , to managing to swim a relatively respectable distance. Relatively ....

Along the way we have had a fantastic journey , taking the opportunity to get a bit fitter , getting to know our local pools , swimming inside and outside , with a regular dose of natural water thrown in for good measure.

This distance is a long way for us and both are nervous about being able to keep going . But we are now training in earnest and excited about the warmer weather , enabling us to get out of pools into the lakes and rivers around us

And we are fundraising for a wonderful cause.

Level Water use the power of swimming to improve lives for children with disabilities, providing 1-to-1 swimming lessons, and giving them the chance enjoy the water as much as we do.

Thankyou in advance if you feel able to make a donation , however small
