Some months ago with a false sense of confidence and a misplaced sense of loyalty to an overly persuasive friend, I foolishly signed up to do the Great North Run. Alarmingly it is now just round the corner.

Based in the North East, Herriot Hospice provides a range of care and support for people with life limiting conditions including end of life care. This is provided at their centres but also importantly for people in their own homes. It’s a great organisation and one I have personal experience of. I am sure it is illustrative of many similar organisations across the UK providing really important care and services at some of the most difficult of times. As I anticipate is the case for most of those organisations, charitable donations are really important to Herriot Hospice so anything at all you feel able to donate in sponsorship of my endeavour would be gratefully received by me but more importantly by them and the people they continue to support.

If it’s any help the training has been reeeeeeeeeeeeally hard - turns out an 18 year gap isn’t the ideal rest period/preparation….😯
