Story
When I'm having a bad day, bad week, or bad month, I say to myself 'I have a roof over my head, I have food on the table, and I have a pillow to rest my head at night'. It reminds me of what is truly important, and how very fortunate I am.
I also have an incredible family unit who have unwaveringly supported me, and I am never happier than when I am back in the Scottish countryside with them. Home is, after all, where the heart is.
I believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home.
SO... on 22nd March, along with some work pals, I'll be walking a half-marathon through the night to raise money for Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields, who are dedicated to changing lives. Having worked with CSTM previously, both fundraising and volunteering in their kitchen, I've seen first-hand the wonderful work they do to support and empower people who have found themselves in a situation without the basic essentials of food, shelter, and a sense of security. They're a truly inspirational team, working tirelessly to help some of the most benevolent people I've had the pleasure of meeting.
So enters The London Walk 2024
A half. marathon. walking.
Thats 13 miles, ya'll......... at night.
However, I am lucky enough that when I am tired and delirious at 1am in Trafalgar Square, I'll be able to take myself home to where it's safe and warm. I can't imagine the alternative.
And on that note, as I count my blessings, I ask all my friends, family and beyond to count theirs too. And give me your money. 🙏🏻👣
