Story
WHAT: Tour de Karma
Karma Cares is kicking off 2024 by taking a sponsorship role in the upcoming All Roads Lead to Rome charity bike ride - with a few classic cars and motorbikes also taking part to give it more of a 'wacky races' vibe! The Race to Rome takes place in the run up to the the Six Nations Italy v Scotland rugby match on March 09 and aims to raise funds for Scotland rugby legend Doddie Weir's Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Our goal is to raise £13,331 via the online cycling challenge, inviting Karma Group members to virtually pedal the distance from Perth, Western Australia, to Rome with ‘Haggis the Karma Quokka’ —covering 13,331km and making stops at various Karma Group resorts along the way. Since it's a virtual cycle, Members can submit distances travelled by walking, running, cycling, skiing, rowing, treadmill... in short any form of self-powered motility! Whether you're zooming through London streets on your Brompton, jogging along the beach in Bali or power-walking to the shops Perth, Karma will match every kilometre covered with a donation of £1.
WHEN: Pedal-Power into March!
The charity bike ride will span the weeks leading up to the Six Nations Italy v Scotland match on March 09. Members can start clocking their kilometres and submitting distances travelled.
HOW: Saddle up & Make a Difference!
Ready to roll? All you need to do to take part is fill out the below form to contribute your miles or to make a direct donation. In addition to the online challenge, a team of Karma Ambassadors is gearing up to take on the final leg of the race—from Karma Borgo di Colleoli in Tuscany to the Piazza Navona in Rome, covering a distance of 365 miles. Plus our beloved mascot and king of the road, 'Haggis the Karma Quokka' will be leading the pack, all the way from Western Australia. So mark your calendars for their triumphant arrival on March 08, just in time for a pre-match celebration!
We're confident that together we can raise at least £13,331, and we're excited for you to join our quest as a (virtual) pedal-pushing hero! Ready to hit the road? Hit that link below for all the details.
Happy cycling, and we look forward to seeing you in Rome!
