Story
Hello there again!
Thank you for taking the time to read our page:)
Having completed my skydive back in July of this year, I did not want to stop there and so have set myself another challenge, alongside my good friend Louise of running the London marathon. After 7 / 8 years of us trying to get places , we have finally secured charity places and will be running together as part of team Cancer Research Wales, and we could not be more thrilled! There's a lot of training to be done ( the recent Cardiff half was proof of that for me, certainly!) but very determined to complete it whilst raising even more money for this fantastic cause.
Cancer Research Wales is a wonderful charity that does incredible work. It is a charity that ensures all research funding is spent in Wales, for Wales. Without the support of the general public, none of CRWs’ work would be possible so it is vitally important we continue to do so as a way of helping the best researchers and clinicians improve outcomes for cancer patients and save more lives.
Cancer has sadly become a very common disease and has impacted myself, close family members, many friends and their children. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2023; it was all a bit surreal at the time, as I received my diagnosis in exactly the same room as my mother received hers, approximately 17 years ago. I have since had 2 operations (a mastectomy and an axiliary lymph node clearance), 6 months of chemotherapy, radiotherapy and will continue on hormone therapy for the next 10 years. Sadly close family members who battled the disease are no longer here.
Once again, any donations would be gratefully received
Diolch / Thank you!
