Story
In June last year my fiancé, Gary, attempted to complete the Race to the King 100km (66 mile) offroad race from Goodwood.
After completing 45 miles he made the difficult, yet sensible decision to pull out of the race. He vowed to come back stronger next year but sadly never got the chance.
Gaz sadly passed away on 20th August 2023 having suffered a cardiac arrest whilst out running.
I've decided to try to complete the full 100km for Gaz, in his memory. It's not a decision I've taken lightly, as I'm not sure how the niggles I currently have will respond to the training; let alone the race, but it's something that means a lot to me and I'm determined to give it my best shot.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
