I joined as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at James Paget 12 years ago and it has been my home since.

I am very grateful to all the staff, patients and families and who have supported me in the journey to make improvements in delivery of patient care both at colorectal and general surgical areas in the Hospital.

To improve further, we need Surgical Robot. This provides greater precision, better 3 dimensional views and greater degrees of instrument tip movement during surgery using smaller cuts in the tummy performed by trained surgeons and nurses.

The benefits are greater than laparoscopic surgery which I use at present. The recovery is quicker and complications are less. For cancers there is less risk of recurrence and survival is longer. Many of our patients will be able to receive their surgery at Paget closer to home with out having to travel further away.

I stated fundraising for this purpose from last year. Last year I ran half marathon in Blickling Hall and many of you supported. This year I am going for full marathon. I have never run marathon before. This is special for me for special cause.

We need a lot of money to buy this but with your support and generosity, if we work together even impossible becomes possible. We are asking help form everyone. Thank you all for your generosity!
