For me, this tragedy hits close to home—quite literally. Comilla is not just another place on the map; it’s where I spent some of the happiest days of my childhood. The narrow streets where I played with my friends, the fields where we flew kites or played cricket on, and the bustling markets where I’d accompany my parents—these places are now underwater. I remember vividly the afternoons spent by the open fields, where we’d sit and listen to the stories of the elders, and the laughter that filled the air during festivals. These cherished memories now lie submerged beneath floodwaters. It’s heartbreaking to think that the places that once brought so much joy to my life are now scenes of despair.
