Story

This June, Bex and Lisa will be walking a marathon, joined by their family, Hannah, Catherine and Helen at the halfway point to complete a half marathon to fundraise for the fantastic Viking Day Unit at QEQM hospital.

We know first hand just how vital the care provided by the unit is for those undergoing chemotherapy following my dad/Lisa's uncle's treatment last year. We will be forever indebted to the exemplary care and support provided by the nursing staff – which included endless cups of tea and a laugh when times were tough – on top of his rigorous treatment regimen.

We know just how grateful he was to have them cheer him on when he rang the bell at the end of his successful treatment and without them he wouldn’t be here to celebrate his sixtieth birthday with us in April.

Anything you can donate to this fantastic cause will ensure that others facing the same difficult journey will receive the same level of care and comfort while receiving their treatment.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
