Our MISSION is to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

Janice and I are doing a sponsored walk to raise money for Headway Brain Injury Association, Sussex.

As you may know Janice sustained brain damage after contracting encephalitis which sadly was wrongly diagnosed leaving her with life changing injuries.

I have worked with Janice over the past 8 months as her personal assistant and enabler to help her live as normal a life as is possible with the damage that she has to her brain.

Walking around Sheffield Park Gardens has been one of our highlights as not only is it a beautiful place it allows Janice to enjoy being outside in the fresh air, getting excise, but also allows her a sense of freedom.

Headway has been a lifeline for Janice in her recovery and rehabilitation and we visit there twice a week and it is an amazing place where Janice can be herself and explore what she is still able to achieve. She loves painting, making clay pots, planting bulbs and playing Bowls to name a few of the many things they do there.

Headway is an incredible place.

Headway and Sheffield Park work closely together and there is a beautiful new garden called The garden for the Future that we have visited with our Headway Group.

Janice and I are going to incorporate walking through this part of the gardens on our sponsored walk and we are going to walk round and past all the lakes.
