Story

Over the years some might say that I previously reminded them of the character in the song Strong written and sung by Robbie Williams.

However, J’s changed… he’s bought a Road Racing Endurance Bike, all the clobber that goes with that, and he’s been labouring around West Suffolk in some indecently tight lycra…

I AM NOT A CYCLIST. Prior to signing up for this event my cycling has been limited to short trips out with the children and even shorter trips to The Pub which is about half a mile away… Having now recently regularly cycled around 50K in a respectable time (surprisingly respectable I feel…) I am nervously confident to share with you that I intend to Cyle from Paris to Bury.

- 624K over 6 days

- The brutalist day is planned as 148K along with 873M of elevation…

- Averaging 104K daily…

This is an entirely charitable request for your support. I have funded all costs (accommodation, bike, a seemingly huge amount of cycling attire…) all funds donated will be passed to the two benefiting Charitable Trusts no deductions for my expenses will occur. Being formal Charitable Trusts the Trustees are of course obliged to ensure that all funds are formally accounted for and spent in a proper Charitable Manner. The two charities being.

- St Nicholas Hospice Care - Charity Registration No. 287773

- Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club - Haberden Trust - Charity Registration No. 1118823
